Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the Role
You are responsible for managing the day‑to‑day commercial activities on large‑scale high‑voltage (HV) projects. You work closely with teams, clients, and key stakeholders to deliver the commercial side of projects for H&MV.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day commercial and contract activities.
* Create and monitor procurement schedule.
* Ensure supplier agreements and sub‑contractors are managed in accordance with company policies.
* Use the agreed costing system for allocation and coding to meet all internal and external requirements.
* Provide regular updates and information to ensure contract milestones are achieved.
* Process payment applications monthly or as agreed with the client.
* Update contract obligations to meet additional client requirements.
* Manage Tender vs Construction Cost analysis.
* Manage sub‑contractor accounts, assist in selecting/appointing sub‑contractors, draft sub‑contractor contracts, process payments and control variations.
* Hold official handover meetings with the estimating team.
* Negotiate contracts, agree payment terms and milestones.
* Liaise with the client and sub‑contractors (attending site meetings when required).
* Maintain regular contact with site staff/PM for project updates and track project variations.
* Provide support and mentorship to develop junior members of the commercial team.
* Notify client/senior management of any increased project value or issues affecting company performance.
* Produce and present monthly cost reports to the Commercial Manager.
Key Requirements
* Degree in Quantity Surveying (desired).
* Minimum 2‑3 years' experience in a similar position.
Skills & Competencies
* Proficient in Microsoft Office features, including Excel.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to problem‑solve collaboratively.
* Team player who demonstrates high initiative.
