Overview
The role within the Service Consultancy Team is a customer facing role (internal and external). You will provide SME input across QinetiQ's service portfolio, including Pre-bid and Bid evaluation, and offer advice within the Service Architecture environment and Service Management practices across projects and programmes. The purpose is to design and deliver service integration, support and management models to meet customer requirements and service or solution deliverables using Industry Best Practice methodologies across the full service lifecycle. The Service Consultant may work in a customer facing role within a service management and delivery team, with responsibility for day-to-day operational delivery assurance of managed services on a large, complex programme. The role requires close collaboration with customer stakeholders, service teams and 3rd party suppliers to ensure services are maintained and customers receive exemplary service delivery.
Responsibilities
* As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), provide service lifecycle input into bid responses and proposals, identify and derive customer and business requirements, and define appropriate support models with associated costs.
* Engage with stakeholders to ensure value and benefits of Service and Technical Operations policies and processes are recognised and understood.
* Work autonomously and resolve complex issues with minimal guidance.
* Ensure all customer solutions and services align to Service and Technical Operations policies and processes.
* Influence stakeholders across various positions and levels.
* Collaborate with Service Design and Transition (SD&T) colleagues and Service and Technical Operations teams to ensure service design packages are approved and accepted to enable Service Transition.
Key Capabilities
* Provide advice and guidance to influence Service Architecture for operationally capable solutions, taking into account customer requirements and needs.
* Influence stakeholders and engage with customers across levels.
* Produce documentation and high-level plans.
* Strong competency in Industry Best Practice service frameworks (e.g., ITIL/SIAM).
* Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to promote teamwork across national and multinational teams.
* Excellent communication skills; able to lead meetings and present complex topics clearly.
* Understanding of the service lifecycle process, cross-functional and organizational design including governance structures and interface definitions.
* Knowledge of SAFe Agile Principles and Practices within large organisations.
* Advocate for best practice and deliver solutions for continuous improvement.
* Experience in Service Design and Development within large complex organisations (Service Architecture).
* Experience working across diverse services, products and business.
* Leading SAFe certification (knowledge of the SAFe Agile Roadmap).
* Certified ITIL4 Managing Professional.
* Commercially astute with strong business acumen.
* Understanding BID Process in the architecture and design of services, including documentation production.
Desirable
* Prince2 or PMP Project Management experience.
* Knowledge of MoD Governance, Procurement Structures and Assurance Processes.
