Job Description

Operational Finance Business Partner | Barrow-in-Furness | £60,000 - £65,000

An opportunity has arisen to join a global business in a highly visible and impactful role. You will oversee the commercial reporting and operational integrity of a £40m+ contract, working closely with SLT and regularly presenting financial performance and working to provide solutions to implement within the business.

Reporting into Group Commercial Finance Manager, you will have a range of duties including;

* Take ownership of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across multiple contracts and sites.
* Drive continuous improvement in financial controls, strengthening governance and minimising risk.
* Oversee efficient and compliant procurement processes, aligned with budgets and business needs.
* Act as a trusted business partner to operational leaders, supporting delivery of strategic and commercial objectives.
* Lead on debt management and invoicing, ensuring timely resolution of overdue balances and unbilled work.
* Provide training, guidance, and support to operational teams to build financial and commercial awareness.
* Identify risks and opportunities, escalating concerns to senior leadership and proposing solutions.
* Recruit, develop, and motivate finance and procurement staff to achieve high performance.
* Offer commercial insight and advice on service development, major projects, and new business opportunities.
* Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with business unit managers.
* Monitor and report on KPIs and benchmarking data to drive contract performance.
* Build strong client relationships, advising on financial and commercial improvements that add value.

Candidate profile;

* ACCA/CIMA/ACA Qualified preferred – QBE with relevant experience also considered
* Prior operations/project finance experience essential
* Excellent communication skills
* Advanced excel skills
* Stakeholder management experience
