The Role As a Combat System Engineer, you will play an important role in supporting the development and delivery of effective naval combat systems. You will contribute across the full equipment lifecycle, helping to plan, integrate, test, evaluate, and support system acceptance to meet operational requirements. Working as part of a supportive engineering team, you will contribute to a long-term naval combat systems integration programme. You will carry out integration and testing activities under the guidance of senior engineers, working closely with project management to ensure delivery aligns with agreed technical and delivery plans. You will take responsibility for specific project tasks, support customer engagement to understand capability needs and programme constraints, develop test plans, carry out integration activities, and produce clear supporting evidence. Key Responsibilities Run core systems engineering activities on complex defence projects Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer and business needs are understood and addressed Produce and maintain technical documentation to support work delivered Provide updates on progress to project leads and customers Take part in sea trials on Royal Navy vessels, including possible overseas activity Essential Experience Experience in a relevant engineering discipline Background working with naval combat systems or related areas such as radar, sonar, command and control, or weapons systems Experience in system integration, testing, and evaluation Essential Qualifications Honours degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline (HNC/D level qualifications will be considered with suitable experience) We welcome applications from people with varied backgrounds and experiences.
