The Instructor Technician in Theatre role:

If yes, then you could be ideal candidate to become our Instructor Technician in Theatre at Chichester College!
You will supporting our Level 3 Production Arts course which delivers all the essential skills to our students who are learning the craft of everything backstage. The course teaches prop building, set design, sound design, lighting, stage management and more.
As our Instructor Technician in Theatre, you will have knowledge of all things lighting including desks, plus knowledge of constructing sets. The job will involve everything from hands on workshops to overseeing set construction to support our 14 productions per year.
Key Responsibilities of our Instructor Technician in Theatre:
Undertaking administration related to course requirements and provide reports and statistics as required.
Liaising with Additional Support in specific cases to ensure students get appropriate support.
Participating in curriculum area, College, employer/parent functions, reviews, meetings and promotional activities, as required.
Organising daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation and maintenance of resources, services and housekeeping.
Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment.
Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertake risk assessments.
Participating in course review activities and the generation and implementation of new resources and action plans.
Monitoring and maintaining equipment and prepare replacement plans.
Our ideal Instructor Technician in Theatre should have the following skills and experience:
Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area
Relevant industrial/subject experience
Understanding of virtual learning environments and on-line learning
Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
