This is a high‑impact role embedded within the NGET business, working closely with our Electricity Transmission delivery units to help them achieve their strategic objectives. Opportunity to be part of our Employee Resource groups What You'll Be Getting Up To As a business partner, you will seek to become a critical friend and trusted advisor to the delivery units and support functions that you are supporting by providing constructive challenge and actionable insight as the Electricity Transmission network looks to achieve unprecedented levels of growth and expansion to support the UK’s Net Zero commitments. Effectively lead and manage a team of Risks and Controls Leads and Analysts in the second line of National Grid’s Three Lines Model approach to risk management, providing support, advice, challenge, and oversight to the first line. Support the Head of Risk and Controls to implement the risk strategy and the ERM Framework. Ensure the NGET business-wide risk register is actively managed, fit for purpose, with robust mitigations mirroring appropriate risk taxonomies. Support and appropriately challenge first line managers on risk identification and risk assessment including the identification and facilitation of discussions around emerging risks with senior leaders including members of the NGET Executive Team. Provide best practice advice to risk and controls owners, develop and lead training on risk management and risk mitigations and controls design techniques. About You Leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams. Excellent stakeholder management skills, working with colleagues at all levels of the business to gain engagement, coach and develop first line understanding of risk, controls and assurance. Proven experience in risk management, internal controls, assurance, or audit. Deep understanding of the Three Lines Model and enterprise risk management frameworks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise, insightful reports for Executive audiences. Ability to maintain independence, integrity, and objectivity while building trusted stakeholder relationships. Relevant CIMA/ACCA qualification. Don’t meet every single requirement?
