The Opportunity
Are you an experienced SENCO looking for a rewarding, flexible role to see out the academic year?
Randstad Education is currently supporting a vibrant, forward-thinking primary school in Colchester to recruit a dedicated SENCO for three days per week. The Role
This is an immediate requirement to support the school through the remainder of the summer term. Uniquely, you will be working alongside the current SENCO (who works 4.5 days), allowing for an excellent crossover of responsibilities, a thorough handover, and a collaborative approach to pupil cases.
The school is highly flexible regarding which three days you work, making this an ideal position for those balancing other commitments.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school's SEND policy.
* Coordinate specialist provision and support for pupils with EHCPs and additional needs.
* Liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
* Work collaboratively with the existing SENCO to maintain continuity of care.
* Utilise the school's excellent facilities to foster an engaging learning environment.
Requirements
Due to the immediate start date, candidates must already hold an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
* NASENCO Qualification (National Award for SEN Coordination).
* Proven experience as a SENCO within a UK primary setting.
* Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
* A proactive, empathetic, and collaborative approach to inclusive education.
