Salary: £39, - £46, (pro-rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 18 per week, 40 weeks sessional
Bruntsfield school are looking for a child centred, enthusiastic, personable colleague to work onsite at the school, to join their Senior Leadership Team who will inspire and deliver excellence in the role of Business Manager.
The role of a Business Manager is to support the Headteacher in all non-curricular aspects of school management, ensuring these aspects operate effectively, including Finance, HR, Information Governance, Resources, Facilities, Information Technology and Health and Safety and the successful candidate should have experience in some or all of these areas. Experience of leading support services in an educational setting and leading people, is desirable. The Business Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing operational efficiency across the school and working in partnership with multiple external agencies and contractors.

Bruntsfield Primary is a large primary school in the heart of the city that prides itself on its strong co-operative links with parents, its friendly, warm, welcoming atmosphere and its rich and varied curriculum. The school is non-denominational and provides education for both boys and girls from P1 (approximately 5 years old) to P7 (approximately 11 years old). Currently there are 21 classes and the school roll is over pupils.
The school is part of the Boroughmuir High School Learning Community of schools, along with South Morningside, Canaan Lane and Buckstone Primaries. Almost all pupils transfer to Boroughmuir High School. The school building is traditional in design and affords good space for various activities. It comprises two large halls, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a general purpose room, a general purpose base, a library, a support for learning base, a medical room and a meeting room. School facilities are used widely by community organisations in the evenings and at weekends. Bruntsfield is situated in the centre of Edinburgh and our families contribute to a diverse and rich culture.
We have attendance sitting at 4.3% <85%. Almost all (92%) of our children are in Quintile 5. Annual PEF budget is currently £36,.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
