Position Overview
The role of a Payroll Trainee supports the wider Payroll Bureau by delivering comprehensive payrolls to Fourth customers. Working as part of a team, weekly and monthly payrolls will be processed accurately and on time. The trainee will be the first point of contact for payroll queries, providing a career development opportunity to become a Payroll Specialist or to move internally within Fourth departments.
Primary Responsibilities
* Administer all payrolls within a set portfolio of customers, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time to achieve Bureau targets with the support of Payroll Trainers and the wider Bureau.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships and provide customer service according to the Bureau service definition and Service Level Agreement.
* Ensure all data is received from the customer on time and all output is delivered to the customer in line with metrics and targets.
* Complete all aspects of payroll reconciliation.
* Ensure all payrolls balance at all times.
* Respond to customer telephone or email queries and take appropriate action.
* Highlight and escalated/respond to any issue which may affect the smooth running of customer payrolls.
* Ensure the customer payroll procedures manual is kept up to date with current processes.
* Send annual timetable communication regarding Easter, Christmas and start of year pay dates.
* Communicate quarterly surveys to customers.
Key Skills And Competencies
* Strong verbal and written communication
* 2 years in an office environment
* Educated to GCSE Level including Maths and English
