Job Description
3. Warehouse Operations
4. Lead daily warehouse operations using Advanced WMS warehouse documents and task queues.
5. Ensure no inbound, outbound, or internal movements occur outside Dynamics WMS.
6. Plan labour and prioritisation around:
7. Warehouse shipments
8. Cut‑off times
9. Directed picking and replenishment demand
10. Maintain a safe, efficient, and well‑organised warehouse environment.
Inbound Processing: Receipts & Directed Put‑Away
11. Manage inbound deliveries using Warehouse Receipts.
12. Ensure:
13. All deliveries are counted, scanned, and registered correctly
14. Exceptions (damaged/short deliveries) are handled through approved WMS processes
15. Oversee directed put‑away, ensuring:
16. Stock is placed only in system‑assigned bins
17. Bin rules, capacities, and zoning are respected
18. Ensure inventory is unavailable for picking until receipt and put‑away is fully completed and posted.
Bin, Zone & Warehouse Structure Ownership
19. Own and maintain the warehouse location, zone, and bin structure in Business Central.
20. Ensure bin setup supports:
21. Directed put‑away logic
22. Optimal pick routes
23. Safe and compliant storage
24. Optimise bin layouts for:
25. Fast‑moving items
26. Bulk vs pick‑face separation
27. Congestion and travel reduction
28. Maintain discipline to avoid mixed or incorrect bin content.
Directed Replenishment
29. Ensure picking bins are replenished using WMS‑led replenishment tasks.
30. Monitor min/max levels and forward pick availability.
31. Coordinate replenishment activity to support picking waves and despatch cut‑offs.
32. Prevent picker downtime caused by poor bin availability or configuration.
Final Stage Processes
33. Ensure all assembly and paint line operations meet defined quality specifications, minimising defects, rework, and delays to customer delivery.
34. Monitor and manage performance against agreed KPIs, including throughput, right‑first‑time output, rework levels, and on‑time despatch.
35. Identify process constraints or inefficiencies across assembly and finishing stages and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance flow and productivity.
Outbound Fulfilment: Directed Pick, Pack & Ship
36. Control all outbound activity through:
37. Warehouse Picks (directed pick)
38. Warehouse Shipments
39. Ensure:
40. Picks are completed accurately against system instructions
41. Lot/serial tracking (where applicable) is fully complied with
42. Exceptions are resolved using approved WMS processes
43. Oversee packing and shipment confirmation to ensure:
44. Correct goods are packed to the correct shipment
45. Shipments are only posted once physically dispatched
46. Coordinate carrier handover so physical despatch matches system status.
Inventory Accuracy, Cycle Counts & Audit
47. Maintain real‑time inventory accuracy through strict system discipline.
48. Lead WMS‑based inventory controls including:
49. Cycle counting
50. Bin counts
51. Directed counts (where configured)
52. Investigate discrepancies using:
53. Warehouse entries
54. Bin contents
55. Item ledger entries
56. Ensure stock adjustments are controlled, approved, and fully documented.
57. Support year‑end stock take and external audit requirements.
Dynamics WMS System Ownership
58. Act as operational owner for Advanced WMS usage within the warehouse.
59. Ensure all warehouse SOPs align 1:1 with Dynamics WMS transactions.
60. Work with IT / ERP support to:
61. Raise and resolve WMS issues
62. Participate in UAT for warehouse changes
63. Improve configuration, reporting, and efficiency
64. Champion a strict "system first, no workarounds" culture.
Leadership & Team Development
65. Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and operatives.
66. Ensure all staff are trained and competent in:
67. Directed put‑away and directed picking
68. Correct registration and posting steps
69. Exception handling
70. Health & safety procedures
71. Manage performance, rotas, attendance, and conduct in line with HR policies.
The Successful Applicant
72. Proven experience leading a warehouse operation using ERP‑controlled WMS processes.
73. Strong hands‑on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central Advanced Warehouse Management, including:
74. Warehouse Receipts, Put‑away, Picks, and Shipments
75. Bin‑controlled inventory
76. Directed put‑away and directed pick
77. Strong leadership skills with the ability to enforce process compliance.
78. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to stock accuracy.
79. Effective collaboration to ensure right‑first‑time output and continuous improvement initiatives.
