This location for this role is flexible and can be based at any of our ERF sites, with frequent travel around the UK. As our Energy Risk Manager, you will be at the forefront of renewable energy trading strategies and operational excellence. Your key responsibilities will include: Strategic Trading: Develop and execute both short and long-term trading strategies for a diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets. Your expertise will help us navigate the intricacies of energy markets to maximize returns. Operational Excellence: Ensure seamless participation in energy markets for our physical asset portfolio. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that operational requirements are met efficiently and effectively. Portfolio Management: Take a central role in shaping Viridor's energy market strategy, overseeing a substantial portfolio of 2.2TWh renewable energy assets generating over £200 million in annual revenue. Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison across operational interfaces within our growing energy business. Your communication skills will be pivotal in conveying risks and opportunities to stakeholders. External Engagement: Collaborate closely with counterparts in energy and financial markets, as well as other customers. Represent our business with professionalism and establish enduring relationships. Our Ideal Energy Risk Manager will have: A solid understanding of European energy markets, honed in a commercial energy environment. Proficiency in energy asset operations and commercial interactions. Confidence in challenging and influencing senior decision makers and stakeholders. You’ll possess exceptional problem-solving skills and have a track record of implementing effective solutions. You’ll bring proven experience in a commercial commodities environment, ideally with exposure to trading and risk management. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced organization, driving results through swift actions, will set you apart. A degree-level qualification or higher in a scientific, mathematical, business, or finance-based discipline.
