We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join the Technical Services team as a Technical Applications Scientist covering specific regions in Europe & UK. This role can be based in France or the UK. If based in the UK, this will be a hybrid role, with three days on site in Oxford and two days working from home. During the initial training period, five days on site would be expected.
The Details
This exciting and challenging role involves working within a cross‑functional team to provide high‑quality technical expertise and representation for ONT products. You will work to strengthen the company’s relationship with scientists to ensure the application of our products to their research.
You will assist customers in experimental design, product installation, use of wet and dry lab products, data analysis, and workflow implementation and validation, in collaboration with other internal and customer‑facing teams.
Duties
* Providing front‑line applications support to customers on all aspects of the Nanopore sequencing workflow by email, phone and live chat, and escalating to senior team members as required.
* Troubleshooting, learning and implementing new methods of identifying customer problems, uncovering their needs and suggesting working solutions based on our products.
* Recording and documenting all relevant information from customers and prospective customers into the CRM with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
* A BSc degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Molecular Biology, Genetics, Life Sciences, etc.
* Understanding of NGS, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and related fields.
* Proficiency in a European language (French or Italian) to a C1 level.
* Technical competency to understand and clearly discuss fundamental theory and principles of experimental design, techniques and results; ability to stay current in technical knowledge.
* Approachable manner that encourages interaction with others and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction; excellent trouble‑shooter and able to manage different priorities.
