Job purpose: The purpose of the role is to develop and implement quality management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timescales, financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organisation's annual business plan and long term strategy. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: * Develop and maintain technical/quality systems to establish standards relating to activities and products. * Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards. * Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels. * Monitor and inform/communicate/apply standards created/maintained by external bodies, and integrate within internal quality management systems. * Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of technical/quality issues across all departments. * Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales. * Modify existing products and processes and developing new ones. * Contribute and instigate Food Safety responsibility throughout the Company, and within the HACCP team. * Perform duties within the HACCP Team * Compiling/checking/approving product specifications and labelling * Auditing suppliers and managing internal audits.
