Your newpany
You will be joining an existing team of mechanics at a garage in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian. They have a fleet of over 250 vehicles and, due to an increase in workload, are looking to add a HGV mechanic on an ongoing contract.
Your new role
Your duties may include:
1. Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on HGV vehicles, including class 2 and buses
2. Repairing or replacing parts such as engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension, and steering systems
3. Maintaining and repairing engines, fuel systems and braking systems to meet safety and legal standards
4. Working with vehicle diagnostics equipment and specialised tools alongside other members of the garage
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a SVQ/NVQ qualified heavy vehicle mechanic, ideally with experience working in a fast-paced, high volume garage. You will be reporting to the garage each morning where there is free parking and good access to local amenities. All qualifications will need to be presented and authenticated prior to the start date, as well as a recent working reference.
What you'll get in return
You will be offered an immediate start with a large employer in the local area. Hays will pay you PAYE one week in arrears with the option for paid annual leave to be saved up. You will receive regular updates from your Hays consultant and all questions answered quickly and promptly.
