A leading engineering consultancy with a strong presence in the UK rail and infrastructure sector is seeking a Principal Bridge Engineer to join its growing Civil & Structural division. Following significant project wins for CP7 and beyond, the business is expanding its bridge design and assessment capability and is looking for an experienced professional to help shape and deliver a diverse and technically challenging workbank.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare outline and detailed designs for a wide range of civil engineering projects, with a strong focus on bridge design and structural assessments
Lead and oversee check/approve processes throughout project delivery
Undertake designer duties in accordance with CDM/CSM legislation
Engage directly with clients to support successful project outcomes
Support the development and expansion of the bridge engineering capability
Contribute to business improvement initiatives and wider company objectives
Maintain ongoing professional development
Mentor and support junior engineering staff
Required Experience
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) with ICE, IStructE or equivalent
Demonstrable experience in civil engineering, ideally with experience acting as CRE or working towards CRE status
Strong background in bridge design and assessment within the rail industry, including familiarity with Network Rail standards
Degree in Civil Engineering
Solid understanding of civil design principles, construction methods, and relevant standards
Experience working with Eurocodes
Proven ability to deliver projects in line with safety standards and CDM/CSM requirements
Commercial awareness, including programming and delivery to budgets and timescales
Proficiency in structural analysis software such as TEDDS and Supersuite
Ability to produce and review drawings using 2D/3D MicroStation
