About the Role:
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary School situated in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing in the classroom. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a separate area of the school, in a small Hub supporting anxious learners.

What you’ll be doing:
Remaining upbeat and encouraging when assisting pupils with basic classroom activities.
Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
Supporting pupils individually and in small groups to access the curriculum.
Professionally building nurturing and trusting relationships with students, supporting both their learning and wellbeing.
Effectively communicating with young people and teachers whilst proactively helping wherever you’re able.
Following safeguarding procedures, ensuring safety of all students.
What we’re looking for:
Enthusiastic and positive attitude, with a desire to work with children.
Someone reliable and committed to show consistency for the pupils.
Good communication skills can follow guidance and use their initiative whenever needed.
Previous experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
Understands the importance of safeguarding policies and the safety and of children.
Holds a fully enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Has the ability to adapt their interaction for children with ADHD, learning difficulties, and varied learning needs.
