What you’ll be doing
Join us on this mission as a Trainee Assembly Operative working in our Annex Fitting Department at our Denham Operations site. You’ll be undertaking a training programme of assembly and inspection techniques under the guidance of a training partner. You will develop a variety of skills through practical and theoretical applications that will facilitate the correct methods of build and Inspection of multiple types of assembly.
Aspects of the role include to:
* To complete Phase 1 of the training pathway to achieve an acceptable knowledge of the basic methods of build and inspection
* To complete Phase 2 of the training pathway to become competent in general assembly and inspection techniques.
* To complete Phase 3 of the training pathway to become competent in complex assembly techniques.
* Using technical specifications, defined working methods and drawings to build and inspect components and sub-assemblies such as assembling a kit of parts to the required specification using hand tools and other assembly equipment and techniques.
* Inspecting and testing products to the required tolerances and technical specifications using ATP’s, other inspection documentation and a variety of inspection equipment (e.g. Presse Test Machines).
* To monitor the fitness for purpose of tools and equipment. Provide for their replacement and/or recalibration so that tools and equipment are in good condition and suitable for purpose at all times.
Characteristics & Skills
* Basic PC skills i.e. Microsoft Office.
* Good standard level of education e.g. GCSE Math’s, English and Science.
* Methodical and accurate.
* Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team and independently when necessary.
* An educational or working background in engineering would be desirable but not essential.
