We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, andhighly motivated Band 7 Nurse Specialist to lead the Prostate Cancer ClinicalNurse Specialist (CNS) team. This is a pivotal leadership role within theurology cancer pathway, providing expert clinical guidance, professionalleadership, and strategic oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality,patient-centred care. The successful candidate will work autonomously andcollaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, overseeing complex casemanagement, service development, and pathway coordination from diagnosisthrough treatment and follow-up. They will provide advanced clinical expertise,support service improvement initiatives, supervise and develop junior teammembers, and ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care for patientsthroughout their prostate cancer journey.
Main duties of the job
Thepost holder will provide visible, compassionate, and professional leadership tothe Prostate Cancer CNS team, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality,evidence-based service across the cancer pathway. They will hold clinicalresponsibility for patients with complex prostate cancer needs, offeringadvanced assessment, advice, and support from diagnosis through treatment,survivorship, and where appropriate, palliative care.
The role includes overseeing pathway coordination, leading nurse-led clinics andtelephone follow-up services, managing clinical risk, and ensuring timelytriage of referrals and queries. The post holder will work in closecollaboration with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes,contribute to service development and audit, support workforce planning, andprovide supervision, mentorship, and appraisal for CNS team members. They willalso lead on quality improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with nationalstandards and targets, and act as a key professional resource for patients,carers, and colleagues.
Thejobholder will assist in the overall implementation and evaluation of care asasp part of the multi professional team. The jobholder is expected to plan,implement, deliver and maintain high standards of patient care. The jobholderwill be skilled in takingappropriate action(s) and acting on owninitiative to achieve the planned outcome.

TheJobholder will carry continuing responsibility for a defined caseload,including the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation andevaluation of programmes of care. Thejobholder will provide highly specialised nursing advice and care to adultsdiagnosed with Prostate Cancers.
Thejob holder will contribute to the development of the speciality service incollaboration with the wider MDT as well as contributing to the strategicdirection of nursing within the Trust.

KeyResponsibilities
Leadthe prostate service and the Clinical Nurse Specialist team
Supportthe implementation, delivery, and evaluation of patient care within themultidisciplinary team.
Undertakeward reviews and assist in the coordination of outpatient appointments.
Conductpost-operative telephone follow-ups and appropriately triage clinical queries.
Ensureeffective communication and seamless care coordination across the cancerpathway.
Leadand supervise a team of Clinical Support Workers and Apprentice ClinicalSupport Workers.
Maintaina safe, effective clinical environment that promotes high standards of patientcare.
Acton own initiative within defined competency boundaries to achieve plannedoutcomes.
Practicein accordance with Trust policies, guidelines, professional standards, andstatutory requirements.

Experience
* Experience at Sister/Charge Nurse level or equivalent within speciality
* Audit & Standard setting
