Production Network Engineering is a newly formed mission-aligned operating model within the Network Product Design & Engineering domain at Barclays. This domain is responsible for designing, building, and operating the strategic network infrastructure platforms and connectivity products that enable colleagues, guests, and partners.
To succeed as an Engineering Manager – Production Network Engineering, you should possess the following skills:
* Extensive experience in designing, building, and operating network products across all 7 layers of the OSI model, with expertise in Layer 1-4 protocols such as G.9802.1/WDM, Ethernet, VXLAN, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and others.
* Experience with virtual infrastructure ecosystems like OpenStack, Kubernetes, QEMU, KVM, HCI across various cloud platforms and uCPE platforms, including open networking technologies.
* Proficiency in network programming, automation, IaC, configuration management tools, and data modeling, with experience in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Additional valued skills include experience in network and infrastructure operational product engineering, knowledge of classical network management, SDN controllers, and ETSI MANO. Certifications like CCIE and expertise in network access control and zero trust networking are advantages.
This role is based in our London office.
