Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Kent (hybrid working available)
Salary: Up to £65,000 (DoE)
We’re supporting a global engineering business developing high-reliability electronic systems used in demanding environments. This role focuses on power electronics design for next-generation propulsion and control systems.
The role
You’ll lead the design of power electronics hardware, focused on AC-DC and DC-DC conversion. This is a hands-on role covering full lifecycle development through to production.
What you’ll be doing
* Design AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion systems
* Produce schematics, BoMs, and technical documentation
* Carry out worst-case analysis and DFMEA
* Work with PCB layout, test, and manufacturing teams
* Support validation and production phases
* Manage technical risks and support delivery
* Ensure designs meet cost, quality, and reliability targets
What we’re looking for
* Strong experience in power electronics design
* Proven background in AC-DC or DC-DC conversion
* Experience in automotive or other high-reliability sectors
* Understanding of ISO 26262 and functional safety
* Experience with DFMEA and structured problem solving
* CAD and simulation tools experience (Xpedition or similar)
* Degree in Electronics or related field
