Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our busy litigation legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and have a keen understanding of legal terminology and procedures. Duties
* Provide administrative support to legal professionals, including managing schedules and appointments.
* Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports using Microsoft Word and other relevant software.
* Maintain filing systems, both electronic and paper-based, ensuring all documents are organised and easily accessible.
* Manage incoming communications via telephone, email, and post, responding or redirecting as necessary.
* Assist in the preparation of case files for court proceedings or meetings.
* Coordinate meetings and liaise with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters.
* Ensure compliance with confidentiality protocols and maintain the integrity of sensitive information.
Qualifications
* Proven administrative experience within a legal environment is preferred but not essential.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail.
* Strong typing skills with a high level of accuracy.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Solid IT skills with the ability to learn new software quickly.
* Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
