Overview
Support Worker role at Black Country Housing Group. Permanent or casual (bank) options available, with full-time or part-time consideration. Location: Chapel Street, Brierley Hill, DY5 2DW. Evening and weekend work is required.
Responsibilities
* Develop a professional relationship with Tenants and help them develop a sense of identity and self-esteem.
* Assist Tenants with personal hygiene and care as necessary.
* Assist with all domestic duties for tenants as necessary.
* Escort tenants to and from outside activities when necessary or required.
* Be aware of tenants’ individual needs and assist in developing appropriate care and support plans.
* Report concerns relating to tenants or issues raised by tenants to senior staff without delay.
* Record and maintain accurate and timely information regarding medication, care, and daily events.
* Cover sleep-in duties as required.
Person Specification
* Essential
* Experience of working with people with learning disabilities.
* Experience of maintaining budgets and handling money.
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
* Knowledge of the needs and rights of people with learning disabilities and how these can be promoted.
* Understanding of the Supporting People and Quality Assessment Framework.
* Desirable
* Full UK Driver’s Licence.
* Previous experience working for a not-for-profit/charitable organisation.
