Property P&L Finance Analyst
Do you want to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment in a role core to cash delivery. Property is one of the biggest cost lines in the Asda P&L with lots of opportunity to influence stakeholders, challenge performance and support decision making. You will play a vital role to prioritise investment across the entire ASDA Estate, navigating the unique challenges different Properties face and assessing Energy efficiency projects.
In the Finance team at Asda the focus of an analyst is to develop and implement data and analytical innovations to create value for the business with insight and recommendations to the leadership team. You would also play a key role in ensuring we deliver financial plans through detailed analysis across the P&L, capital investments and costs. We partner the business unit teams to implement action plans.
The main responsibilities include
* Provide consolidated summaries on business performance to support P&L and forecast reviews
* As part of the team that business partners VP and exec level stakeholders, your role will be to collate forecasts and explain variances, movements and track risks and opportunities
* Provide regular insight and analysis using data to identify actionable opportunities to improve sales and profit.
* Preparing presentations and reporting are a key aspect of the role to share key insights
* Merge financial and non-financial data to present a complete picture for decision making across the team
* As part of the 1 year financial planning process, you will support the process in setting challenging and realistic targets for business units
* Support on the collation of investment papers; ensuring teams deliver robust papers for presentation to the board
* Play a critical role in the governance of capital spend including collation of post investment reviews
* Work closely with property and finance teams to understand performance, ensure accurate forecasting and robust financial controls.
About You
* We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented finance analyst to join our property finance team, it is a great opportunity for someone part or recently qualified looking to build their finance career
* You have an inquisitive mind with a desire to understand how things work and connect together, not afraid to challenge the ‘status-quo’
* Open to change and embrace a continuous improvement mindset.
* Understand the business, the market and know what will make a difference commercially
* Passionate about your own performance and Asda’s – willing to take ownership and be accountable for delivering your piece of the puzzle.
* The ideal candidate would be a recently fully or partly qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA background
