Hours and Shift Pattern
Hours: 24 per week
Shift Pattern: 8:00am -4:00pm
Role Overview
Reporting to the Home Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a varied and engaging programme of activities that promotes independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion for residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and facilitate meaningful and stimulating activities tailored to residents’ interests, preferences, and individual needs
* Encourage participation and support residents to maintain independence and choice
* Manage and maintain activity equipment, materials, and resources within an agreed budget
* Ensure activities are delivered in line with CQC standards and contribute positively to residents’ quality of life
* Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, and colleagues to create an inclusive and welcoming environment
* Maintain accurate records and activity plans where required
Required Knowledge and Experience
* Previous experience organising activities within a care setting is desirable
* Understanding of the interests and activities that support the wellbeing of older people
* Awareness of health and safety requirements within the workplace
Skills and Attributes
* Creative and enthusiastic approach with practical skills such as arts and crafts, music, or group activities
* Ability to motivate, engage, and encourage participation from residents
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and coordinate an activity programme
* Ability to create a positive environment where residents feel comfortable contributing ideas and taking part
* Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Basic IT and computer skills
