The Data Analyst will support data-driven decision-making across construction projects by analysing operational, financial, and project data. The role provides insights that improve cost control, project delivery, resource utilisation, and risk management, working closely with commercial, finance, and project teams to translate data into actionable intelligence. REPORTING TO: IT Manager LOCATION: Based in Newry, Co. Down CONTRACT TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent HOURS: Monday – Friday 40 hours per week with early finish on Fridays Role Responsibilities Data Collection & Integration Maintain master data in the business core systems. Extract and use data from core systems as required by the business. Integrate data from third party systems, such as HRIS and Time Management Systems. Ensure all methods used to extract data are always maintained and remain operational Data Management Maintain data pipelines using SQL, APIs, and ETL processes. Maintain data extracted and stored within SQL Server. Maintain Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate solutions that integrate with the core ERP, third party systems, and the in-house SQL Server. Maintain synchronicity and preparation of data used in reporting tools. Data Reporting Build and maintain dashboards using Power BI. Assist management, finance, commercial, and project teams with data insights to support decision-making. Identify risks to data integrity and perform corrective measures as agreed with the IT Manager. Data Quality & Governance Ensure consistency of master data across all business applications. Ensure the product database is maintained and managed accurately. Ensure supplier price files are maintained and managed accurately. Implement validation and audit checks to support ongoing data quality. Stakeholder Engagement Work with management, commercial, finance, procurement, and project teams to understand data requirements and support business objectives. Translate data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences across the business. Perform any other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time. The Candidate Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent demonstrable experience. Proven experience in a data analyst role, ideally within construction or a related project-based industry. Strong knowledge of SQL and data modelling, with experience building and maintaining ETL processes. Proficiency in BI tools including Power BI, and advanced Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps and Power Automate is desirable. Understanding of construction industry concepts including project lifecycle, Cost Value Reconciliation, WIP, and procurement is desirable but not essential. Experience with construction ERP systems is desirable. Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured and methodical approach. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.
