An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Integrated Safeguarding Team in the Trust for a Named Nurse for Safeguarding Adults. We are looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated, innovative and efficient registered nurse with expert skills and knowledge in safeguarding to join
With the Head of Integrated Safeguarding, the post holder will lead and inspire the integrated safeguarding team and drive delivery of the safeguarding agenda.
The post holder will work to strengthen the safeguarding leadership and motivate colleagues within the Trust to promote effective safeguarding practice and culture, positively promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk and ensure that it is recognised that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and our everyday business.
This role will be to undertake the daily operational management of the team (adult), undertake statutory duties as a Named Nurse, act as a role model of exemplary practice to team members and deputise when required for the Head of Integrated Safeguarding.
As part of our corporate nursing service, the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Adults will work closely with the Head of of Integrated Safeguarding and the Named Doctor for Safeguarding Adults. They will be an effective leader, who will be responsible for embedding a think-family culture, by delivering and monitoring safeguarding adult arrangements to ensure safeguarding is our everyday business.
Main duties of the job
The Named Nurse for Adult Safeguarding is responsible for taking the lead for safeguarding adults at risk of abuse and / or neglect, and the promotion of their welfare across the Trust and our partner organisations. This post provides operational and strategic leadership and is a source of expertise for all staff across the Trust.

6. Have responsibility for the operations of the safeguarding service and will take the lead in the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring a responsive service for safeguarding across the trust footprint.

8. Deputise for the Head of Integrated Safeguarding within the Trust and wider Safeguarding Partnership when required
9. Work as a member of the Nursing and Integrated Governance Unit /Corporate team, supporting an overall understanding of the safety and quality of the care provided by the Trust
10. Undertake training and leadership and management training to enable you to fulfil the requirements of Named Nurse role
11. Being part of the safeguarding leadership structure for the integrated safeguarding service, support both new and existing staff to gain/develop safeguarding knowledge, skills and expertise
12. Work closely with the Head of Integrated Safeguarding to ensure that the Trust meets its statutory, contractual, and regulatory responsibilities in safeguarding adults.
13. Be responsible for areas of the portfolio as identified and delegated by the Head of Integrated Safeguarding.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
15. Currently practicing in a safeguarding role or previous experience as a safeguarding practitioner
16. In depth Knowledge & understanding of the safeguarding agenda – national & local policy, guidance and legislation The Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act. Mental Health Act, Deprivations of Liberties / Liberty Protection Safeguards.
17. Experience of writing safeguarding reports such as Annual Reports, Quarterly Safeguarding Quality and Risk Reports, Safeguarding Adult Reports and DHR’s. Developing action plans and monitoring progress
18. Experience of delivering and participating in safeguarding supervision
Desirable criteria
19. Safeguarding experience in both acute and community health settings
20. Experience of working and influencing at a senior level and leading a team or service.

29. An honors degree or equivalent in a relevant field. Educated to degree level.
