Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but we also offer flexible hours down to 12.
Availability
We need you to be available during the following windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts.
* Sunday 18:00 – 22:00
* Monday 18:00 – 22:00
* Tuesday 18:00 – 22:00
* Thursday 19:00 – 23:00
About the role
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you’ll deliver to customers’ homes, interact with them, and provide great service with a smile.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the van and trays are clean and tidy.
* Leave the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and pick up litter as you see it.
* Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van and check roadworthiness.
* Communicate any changes to the customer, including short code items and substitutions, and offer refunds when appropriate.
* Handle products/deliveries with care.
* Explain to customers that there will be no extra charge for substitutions.
* Deliver during the agreed time slot.
* Call the customer before arriving if early.
* Call the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
Requirements
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit.
* Warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues.
* Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
* Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations.
* Share ideas with managers and colleagues on how we can improve for customers.
* Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
