MUFG, a leading financial group, seeks a Vice President Credit Manager for Securitisation based in London to support senior team members in reviewing complex securitisation credit applications, making well‑considered recommendations and actively monitoring portfolios against internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
What you'll do
In this role you will:
* Review credit applications, offer thoughtful recommendations to senior management and continuously monitor the portfolio in line with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
* Drive the ongoing development of credit risk frameworks, risk appetite portfolio monitoring and early warning systems aligned with shareholder, client and regulatory expectations.
* Develop deep knowledge of various industries, sectors, countries, players, financial structures and legal frameworks relevant to securitisation transactions.
* Represent the credit division at internal forums and articulate key insights on credit quality trends, portfolio performance and regulatory developments.
* Collaborate globally with colleagues in Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore and London to ensure consistent credit approvals for structured finance transactions.
* Identify potential conflicts between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc requirements; escalate issues while maintaining entity‑neutral support in line with regulatory obligations.
* Maintain oversight responsibilities by ensuring delegated tasks are executed correctly and supervise direct reports when required.
* Adapt to evolving duties, comply with controls and compliance obligations, and manage risks proactively within the department.
What you bring
* Comprehensive understanding of asset classes such as auto & consumer credit, residential mortgage‑backed securities (RMBS), trade receivables, working capital transactions, or other structured products.
* Proven track record in credit assessment and risk management applicable to structured finance transactions; familiarity with market dynamics and legal aspects of securitisation.
* Strong communication skills to produce clear written reports and deliver articulate verbal presentations to senior management and junior staff.
* Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred for advanced analytical capability.
* Experience gained from investment banking (credit or front office), rating agencies, legal or accounting backgrounds considered advantageous.
* Excellent attention to detail combined with accuracy in numerical analysis; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required.
* Calm approach under pressure coupled with structured problem‑solving abilities; ability to prioritise tasks according to urgency while maintaining high standards.
* Willingness to learn new asset classes, jurisdictional frameworks, regulatory initiatives and commit to ongoing professional development through training opportunities offered by MUFG.
* Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across teams and building trust‑based relationships within diverse environments.
