Role Description
We are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team on a full-time basis.
In this role, you will:
* Lead and contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)
* Undertake ecological surveys, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), National Vegetation Classification (NVC), riparian, and woodland surveys
* Act as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) on a range of projects
* Ensure environmental compliance and best practice on-site and in reporting
* Provide expert environmental consulting services to clients across multiple sectors
* Produce high-quality, detailed technical reports
* Support the design of blue-green infrastructure and other sustainable solutions
* Mentor and support junior team members, sharing expertise and helping to develop skills across the consultancy
Due to the nature of site visits, applicants must be resident in the UK and have the ability to travel, including to remote parts of the country.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
* At least 5 years’ experience in ecological consultancy
* Demonstrable experience as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW)
* Proven ability in delivering PEAs, NVC, riparian and woodland surveys
* Proficiency in Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Compliance
* Strong report writing skills with excellent attention to detail
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team
* A Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Ecology or a related field
* Experience with major UK environmental projects (desirable)
