Overview
Join the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer - Aseptic Services and play a key role in preparing safe, injectable medicines for patients.
Responsibilities
* Safely aseptically prepare injectable medicines such as chemotherapy and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) using isolator cabinets in a cleanroom environment.
* Assemble trays containing consumables and ingredients for 1st stage checks, documenting information clearly and accurately.
* Perform transfer sanitisation using isopropyl alcohol and other disinfectants, cleaning equipment and work areas on a regular basis.
* Follow procedures to the letter, documenting procedures clearly and concisely.
* Rotate through other areas of the department (stores, assembly, etc.) under supervision.
Qualifications
* Band 2: No experience is necessary; comprehensive training will be given.
* Band 3: Only candidates with suitable experience and NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or accepted equivalent may apply.
* Band 2 progression to Band 3 after completion of training and qualification.
