Press Setter / Press Operator Location: Lee-on-the-Solent / Warsash area Hours: Full time - Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm (Fridays OFF) Job Type: Temporary position with a view to go permanent for the right person Pay Rate: Negotiable, dependent on experience Start Date: As soon as possible About the Role We are currently recruiting an experienced Press Setter / Press Operator to join a leading manufacturing company based in the Southampton area. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual to become part of a busy production team manufacturing high-quality components. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate mechanical and/or hydraulic presses used in the production process. Fit and adjust press tooling, dies, and feeds according to production requirements. Carry out first-off and in-process quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency. Monitor machine performance and make fine adjustments to maintain output and part quality. Follow company manufacturing standards and maintain high levels of workmanship. Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety regulations. Report any machine faults, tooling issues, or quality concerns to the production supervisor. Support the wider manufacturing team to achieve daily production targets. Requirements Proven experience as a Press Setter and/or Press Operator within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Confident in setting and operating a variety of press machinery. Understanding of tooling, dies, and basic press maintenance. Strong awareness of manufacturing quality standards and safety practices. Good attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances. Reliable, team-focused, and proactive in problem-solving. Own PPE preferred (safety boots, hi-vis, etc.).
