Job Purpose:
To be responsible for simulation, integration and validation of the HV Battery systems at component, pack and vehicle level, across all AML programmes:
1. Working with Battery and BMS Engineers to define component functionality and integration test through the development.
2. Defining the associated 1D models for battery systems and its sub-components as well as the overall plant models.
3. Being the main point of contact for the team, supporting vehicle test activities
4. Ownership of the MiL activities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
5. As part of the Battery working group, you’ll be responsible to conduct the validation plans as well as analyze and debug any battery issue coming from the fleet.
6. Working closely with Battery and BMS Engineers to define component functionality and integration tests required for each stage of the development cycle.
7. Developing and coordinating test plans to ensure the BMS is fully validated by the time the certification is required.
8. Developing plant models for cells, contactors, sensors, and other components of the battery systems.
9. Conducting software tests on component, rig and vehicles to validate different functionalities, using the quality processes for automotive industry: 8D, Ishikawa, etc.
10. Issue tracking reported during testing: being part of the root cause analysis team, ensuring the adequate validation.
11. Task tracking – Weekly program status report as part of the Battery working group.
Qualification & Experience:
12. Advanced understanding of Battery Systems and BMS - State flow, Diagnostic, Fault thresholds, Software flashing
13. Advanced understanding of Vehicle communication protocols, such as CAN, LIN and Ethernet
14. Hands-on experience working with vehicle LV and HV systems.
15. Expert user of MATLAB - Simulink
16. Strong user of Simscape.
17. Prior modelling experience on thermal and electrical domains.
18. Communication toolsets: VECTOR toolset (CANaylzer/ CANoe) or Bosh (ETAS / INCA).
19. Prior experience modelling the mechanical domain.
20. Prior battery component design experience, such as busbars, connectors, etc.
21. Automotive electrical design and development.
22. Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronic and/or related field.
