The role & about the client:
On behalf of our client, ITS Building People are searching for an experienced Crane Supervisor to join a civils contractor for a contract to start imminently.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure all lifting operations are properly planned, risk assessed and carried out safely
Coordinate crane movements and lifting schedules to avoid delays and hazards
Work closely with lift planners, slinger/ signallers and crane operators
Ensure site specific safety standards and policies
Conduct toolbox talks and lifting briefing's.
Ensure all members of the lifting team understand their roles and responsibilities
Monitor site conditions to ensure safe crane use
Ensure exclusion zones and safe working areas are clearly marked and maintained
Ensure pre- use checks of cranes and lifting accessories are carried out
Report and log defects or faults immediately
Confirm that all lifting gear has valid certification and is suitable for the task
Maintain lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments and checklists
Record incidents, near misses and lifting related issues as per site protocol. Essential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role:
Relevant tickets- CPCS
Relevant experience in lifting supervision or crane operations
Experience working with groundworks
Must be able to interpret lift plans and ensure their implementation on site
Ability to liaise with engineers and site managers to plan lifts in conjunction with ongoing groundwork phases
Strong communication and leadership skills
Good organisational skills and attention to detail. How to apply:
