Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home
Location: Coventry (CV11)
Salary: £16.50 per hour + £45 per sleep-in
Hours: 160 hours per month
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a 4-bed children's residential home for young people aged 8-17.
This role is key to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care in line with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. You will lead shifts, support staff, and help create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the effective running of the home
* Take responsibility for the home in the Manager's absence
* Lead shifts and provide direction to the staff team
* Ensure safeguarding practices are consistently upheld
* Support young people's emotional, social, and educational development
* Supervise, mentor, and develop staff performance
* Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
* Work in partnership with local authorities, schools, and professionals
* Contribute to audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes
Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (essential)
* Experience working in a children's residential setting
* Previous leadership or senior-level experience
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding and childcare regulations
* Willingness to undertake Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification
