This is a fixed 3 month contract to help with a backlog of building surveying works.
We are looking to recruit someone who has a good knowledge in Building Surveying practices and design standards in the broad range of building and structures found within the regional environment, including urban, commercial, industrial, domestic, leisure, marine. Experienced in the use of AutoCAD, as well as a good understanding of Part A of the Building Regulations, British Standards and Eurocodes relevant to building surveying. IT skills, including using Microsoft packages, previous use of using Civica software for Building Condition surveys will be a distinct advantage.
Your role will be to deliver an agreed list of condition surveys and also to be building surveyor lead for a number of Children Services projects, this work will include building design, producing auto cad drawings and writing specifications and obtaining building regulations for refurbishment works. You will need to assist the project manager in managing the projects and interact with contractors on site, have the ability to deal tactfully with people of all ages and background. You will also need to have the flexibility /ability to pick up any urgent jobs that arise during your period of employment.

Skills
Essential:
* Good communications dealing with planners, contractors and wide range of stakeholders.
* Building Design, writing specifications and using AutoCAD.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Knowledge
Essential:
* Local knowledge and a good understanding of building regulations, building construction and project management.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* Minimum of Degree level (or equivalent experience) in a related discipline, for example, Civil Engineering or a Construction related professional qualification.
