Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lead – IT and Digital to develop and implement innovative digital strategies supporting multiple partners within a shared service environment.
This role manages all aspects of Digital & IT procurement, contract management, supplier relationships, and governance, ensuring digital investments align with strategic goals and deliver value.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a comprehensive Digital & IT Service Plan and Category Strategy.
* Lead procurement processes and negotiate contracts for IT and digital services.
* Serve as the subject matter expert for IT commissioning and supplier engagement.
* Ensure contracts and services deliver value, impact, and continuous improvement.
* Engage with stakeholders to understand needs and market opportunities.
* Mentor colleagues to enhance commercial and commissioning capabilities.
* Act as deputy for the Commercial Manager – Digital & IT when needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Strong background in IT procurement, contract management, and commercial leadership, preferably in a public or complex environment.
* Knowledge of procurement legislation, frameworks, and best practices.
* Commercial acumen with expertise in IT markets, risk management, and value assurance.
* Experience in supplier relationship management and contract performance monitoring.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative approach.
* CIPS Level 3 qualification or similar experience, with at least 5 years in IT purchasing or contract negotiation.
