Youth Futures Foundation Job Description
Youth Futures Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established in December 2019 to improve employment outcomes for young people from marginalised backgrounds. The foundation launched with an initial endowment of £90m from the Reclaim Fund.
This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London.
The Evidence & Evaluation Manager / Senior Economist will work in a dedicated Impact and Evidence directorate.
You will be central to our ambition to create the largest repository of robust evidence and evaluations of what works to support young people into good jobs.
In the directorate, you will support the Head of Evaluation to ensure all Youth Futures’ investments are designed to provide robust evidence of what works.
The postholder will design, commission, and manage impact evaluations and support impact evaluation methods (through a statistics or economics background). Working closely with commissioned independent evaluators, programme staff, wider delivery partners, and colleagues in our Grants and Investment directorate, you will support existing programmes to move towards undertaking impact evaluations, often employing Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) or quasi-experimental designs.
You will also work with colleagues to develop new programmes that improve the evidence base on supporting young people into good jobs by collaborating with partners capable of running larger-scale trials.
The Evidence & Evaluation Manager will contribute to developing our ‘evaluation architecture’, enhancing data infrastructure, administrative dataset access, methodological guidance, and standards. These efforts will ensure that, as the What Works Centre for youth employment, our evidence remains credible and useful.
We currently operate a hybrid model of two days per week in the office and three days from home.
