Utopian Professional Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading Scottish based firm who are looking to hire a highly professional and experienced Management Accountant.
The Finance Department plays an integral role within our client’s business, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the firm by providing strategic financial guidance, maintaining financial controls, and supporting operational efficiency.
As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties including deputising for the Head of Finance when necessary. You will be responsible for:
* Assisting with the annual budget process
* Preparing monthly management accounts (including accruals and prepayment adjustments)
* Producing monitoring reports for review by senior management
* Taking a lead on the firm’s annual account audit and reviewing ledger postings to ensure accurate monitoring of actual versus budget variances
To be considered for this opportunity, we are looking for the following:
* Hold an accountancy qualification and related legal experience although other relevant experience will be considered
* Offer strong data interrogation skills to assist in the preparation of management information and reports
* Ability to develop and maintain a suite of management reports
* Experience with VAT submissions, maintaining supporting schedules, and supporting accounting and reporting platform changes will be essential
* Highly motivated, proactive and commercially minded team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
* The ability to effectively plan and manage a high and varied workload are essential
* You will have a good understanding of legal finance operations, including Billing, A/P, credit control and client accounts and a dexterous knowledge of the Microsoft software suite as well as other legal accounting systems.
* Experience with iManage document management and 3E practice management systems would be an advantage but is not necessary
