A new Clerk of Works/Quality Control Inspector role with an exciting construction consultancy to carry out inspections around the Greater London region. Some of the work will include affordable housing developments.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clerk of Works (Quality Control Inspector) to join a friendly and professional team. They are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible to carry out inspections.
Work locations include Greater London, Kent, Sussex, with key areas in London such as Southwark, Havering, and Wembley.
The suitable candidate will be creative, collaborative, and work well with the construction and project teams. A keen eye for detail and the ability to review documents and drawings are essential to identify issues early and ensure quality in build and final product.
The successful candidate must hold a full, clean driving license and have access to a vehicle.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Oversee building works on allocated sites to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and employer standards.
* Conduct inspections, document defects, and communicate issues promptly.
* Stay updated with building regulations and compliance standards.
* Demonstrate a good understanding of building and housing industry principles, materials, trades, and legal requirements.
* Prepare high-standard written reports with photographs and submit them timely.
* Organize snagging and defect inspections with clients.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, regulations, and fire safety.
* Experience as a Clerk of Works, Quality Manager, Site Manager, or similar QA role.
* Keen eye for detail and review of documents/drawings.
* Experience inspecting residential projects.
* Ability to read construction drawings and understand building regulations.
* Excellent teamwork skills.
* Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
* Strong report writing skills.
* A driving license is required.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* ICWIC accreditation is highly desirable.
* Other relevant designations like CIOB, CABE, RICS, IFE will be considered.
* A formal qualification in construction, engineering, or project management is advantageous.
