The Manager, Internal Communications will work closely with the Director of Communications & Brand to develop and execute high-priority communication plans and assets, working closely with senior leaders and a broad network of internal and some external stakeholders.
The role is critical in delivering a series of events and communication activities within a defined timeframe, requiring high levels of project management, stakeholder engagement and content development capability.
This 6‑month fixed‑term contract (FTC) interim role provides additional capacity to support the delivery of ERM’s global internal communications agenda.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Project management
* Manage a complex program of work comprising multiple events (in person and virtual), activities and channels
* Ensure the project is executed on time, on budget and to a high standard of quality (as measured by feedback surveys, for example).
* Proactively identify risks to project delivery, develop mitigation strategies
* Deliver regular project status updates to key stakeholders
Stakeholder engagement
* Liaise with a broad network of internal and external stakeholders (including business leaders, clients, external agencies, for example) to deliver planned events
* Ensure all stakeholder communications enhance ERM’s brand and maximize positive engagement with the project
* Utilize tact and diplomacy while ensuring timely delivery under pressure
Content development
* Prepare a broad range of communication materials, presentations, event scripts, FAQs, leader talking points, and employee updates.
* Utilize internal channels and platforms effectively, utilizing data analytics to inform and evolve approach
* Coordinate logistics and content for townhalls, virtual meetings, and global communications moments.
* Assist in preparing leadership for internal events, including scripts, presentation content, and talking points.
Content Quality, Governance & Standards
* Ensure internal content is clear, inclusive, and accessible across regions and languages.
* Help embed communication standards, templates, and governance processes.
* Maintain the quality and consistency of internal communication assets.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
* Track engagement and insights from internal channels and employee feedback.
* Recommend improvements and optimizations to increase impact and reach.
Job Requirements & Capabilities
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
* Professional communication certifications (CIPR, IABC) are an advantage but not required.
Essential Experience
* Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Solid internal communications experience within a matrixed or global organization.
* Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with ability to simplify complex messages.
* Experience managing digital communication channels (intranet, newsletters, collaboration platforms).
* Ability to build relationships and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Comfortable working across time zones and supporting global teams
Preferred
* Experience in professional services, sustainability, or purpose ‑ driven organizations.
* Exposure to change communications or transformation initiatives.
* Basic design, formatting or multimedia skills (e.g., video editing, graphic design) are a plus
