Overview
Our client, a leading global production and distribution business, is looking for a standalone Payroll Manager to join their business and work alongside a collaborative HR function. This is a key role where you’ll take ownership of the payroll process while working closely with internal stakeholders and an external provider.
Salary and location
London | Hybrid (3 days in office)
Salary up to £54,000
Start January 2026
Responsibilities
* Run the monthly payroll with accuracy and efficiency, meeting all deadlines.
* Ensure compliance with legislation and company policies across areas such as tax, pensions, and benefits.
* Act as the go-to contact for payroll queries, resolving issues quickly and confidently.
* Liaise with the external payroll provider to ensure smooth operations.
* Manage payroll for a varied workforce including permanent staff, freelancers, and contractors.
* Produce payroll reports and maintain accurate records in line with audit standards.
Qualifications
* Solid payroll management experience, ideally gained in a small to medium-sized organisation.
* Confidence working with outsourced payroll providers and electronic payroll systems.
* Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation, taxation, pensions and NI.
* A strong eye for detail and ability to spot and correct anomalies.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
