We are looking for people who are passionate about Procurement and know the value they can bring to Nationwide Building Society. You will understand the importance of getting the right commercial deal, investing into relationships, moving at pace, outsourcing approaches, emerging markets and technology impacting the financial services sector. You will want to make a difference with new thinking, whilst respecting we have processes and policies to diligently follow.

Already a Procurement professional, you’ll be looking for your next challenge. You have a proven track record in Procurement and can demonstrate how you deliver tangible business benefit, using Procurement expertise to influence and engage with a wide range of business stakeholders and suppliers.

The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 28 and 35.

This is an 18 month fixed-term contract.

For this job you'll be located at our nearest regional hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our office sites. Travel may also be required to supplier locations as dictated by business need.

What you’ll be doing

We need our Procurement Managers to deliver “joined up” Procurement and supply chain strategies and solutions. This means incorporating the full Procurement lifecycle (category planning, sourcing & contract management) across the Services category for business areas across Nationwide.

You’ll use strong stakeholder relationships and deep understanding of the Services category to enable the development of category strategies and plan as a Subject Matter Expert to the business. You’ll provide market insight and engage with existing and prospective suppliers to bring innovation and vision.

Delivering robust commercial deals for Nationwide, that meet the risk appetite and ensure we spend our customer’s money wisely.

Utilise new and existing supplier relationships to deliver continuous improvements, analyse commercial options and drive great value propositions. Drafting and negotiating complex contracts and ensure the maintenance and timely execution of Nationwide’s contract pipeline.


About you

As a minimum requirement you'll have:

* We have two vacancies, both within the Technology Procurement team. We are looking for experienced procurement professionals with technology procurement.
* Demonstrable experience in Procurement and supply chain management (category management, contract negotiation and management, supplier selection and management).
* Experience using source to exit systems.
* Excellent interpersonal skills including effective communications, relationship building and stakeholder management.
* Possess the ability to analyse data and complex inputs to support sound business decisions.
* Have a good knowledge of contract law and managing risk.
* You are a self-starter who can demonstrate leading cross functional teams to successful outcomes. Most importantly you are a strong team player.
* Experience within a Financial Services and/or regulated organisation.
* MCIPS Qualified or studying toward qualification/or an in-depth understanding of and experience dealing with IT contracts/suppliers.
* Strong experience of procuring IT services.
* Strong experience of supplier relationship management and strategic partnering with key supplier(s) to drive synergies across the relationship.
* Experienced in working closely and collaboratively with senior stakeholders across functions.
