Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with 4–5 years of practical experience to support the design, implementation, and optimisation of electrical systems and infrastructure. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on engineering and project involvement.
The successful candidate will contribute to electrical design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
* Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and components
* Review and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
* Support equipment selection and specification
* Participate in new installations, upgrades, and commissioning
* Operations & Maintenance
* Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective actions
* Support preventative and predictive maintenance programmes
* Optimise system reliability and uptime
* Work closely with maintenance and production teams
Projects
* Contribute to electrical engineering projects from planning to execution
* Support project timelines, budgets, and documentation
* Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
* Assist in commissioning and handover of projects
* Compliance & Safety
* Ensure adherence to electrical standards and regulations
* Maintain compliance with health and safety policies
* Support audits and risk assessments
* Ensure proper documentation and reporting
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Professional registration (ECSA or working towards) is advantageous
* Experience
* 4–5 years relevant experience in an industrial or project environment
* Exposure to electrical systems design, maintenance, or commissioning
* Experience in sectors such as manufacturing, mining, energy, or FMCG preferred
Technical Skills
* Strong understanding of electrical systems and control panels
* Experience with PLCs, drives, and automation (advantageous)
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
* Familiarity with electrical codes and standards
* Proficiency in engineering tools/software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN)
