“Social Workers are committed to making a positive change. Each year, they help millions of people to improve their chances in life.”

On the Isle of Wight our new Children’s Service leadership team understand that our social workers and our staff require the right environment to succeed in this challenging, rewarding and important field.

Our vision is ‘creating change together’, which drives our values and behaviours to create change - in partnership with our children and families, our dedicated Children’s Service staff, our partners, and community services, to improve the lives of children on the Isle of Wight.

We value and respect the work you do and ensure our social work teams are given the right tools, conditions, support and guidance needed to make real change happen.

Our social workers benefit from;

Personal assistants to help with admin, diary management, visits, and recording; so you can spend more time with families.

Five extra days to take during the year for professional development; to support your career progression and ongoing learning.

Our nine-day working fortnight, providing an additional 26 days’ time off in lieu a year (enabling you to make the most of all the Isle of Wight lifestyle can offer)

This is a unique and exciting time to join our team. Following the successful completion of our 10-year partnership with Hampshire County Council on the 31st January 2024, we have welcomed a brand-new senior leadership team with the determination and skill to build our new Children's Service.

Together they are already working to create one connected directorate, where Children’s Social Care and our Education, Inclusion and Access services are 100% focussed on improving the lives of children and families on the Isle of Wight.

Here in Children’s Social Care we are reviewing and redesigning our child assessment safeguarding service with the aim of reducing caseloads, improving the quality of reflective supervision and creating the right conditions for social workers to focus on positive impacts and outcome for children.

We are seeking dedicated, skilled, and ambitious social workers who share our vision to get things right for children, at the right time, in the right place, with the right support and intervention.

* Want a new challenge?
* Want to work in a dynamic environment?
* Want to focus on improvement and continual learning?

* Share our aim to intervene at the right time, in the right place and with the right support?

If the answer is yes, we would love to hear from you!
