Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a MSK Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in Primary Care & MSK Physiotherapy services within ourbased in South Ayrshire MSK Services. This job will be based between GP practices in Ayr/Prestwick and MSK Physiotherapy clinics at Maybole Health Centre.

Hours:

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

37.0 (Full time) Monday to Friday

This post is offered as secondment/fixed term contract until 31st March 2027

What you will do:

An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated Physiotherapist with a special interest in the management of MSK conditions to work within MSK Services between Primary care GP localities in Ayr/Prestwick and MSK Physiotherapy services in Maybole Health Centre.

You will be the first point of contact in GP practices within NHS Ayrshire & Arran for the first part of this job. Clinical sessions in core MSK will also be a part of this role.

With a highly specialist clinical skills in the assessment and management of MSK conditions, you will have appropriate postgraduate training to master's level relevant to the MSK speciality and advanced knowledge of managing patients with complex MSK and persistent pain conditions.

You will lead and provide education, training and support to Physiotherapists, Allied Health Professions (AHPs), other health care staff and will have proven teaching experience.

You will also provide a leadership role in the operational running of the Physiotherapy department at Maybole Health Centre to support the MSK Physiotherapy team lead with tasks, such as clinical audit.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

It is recognised that not all applicants may possess all the required competencies needed. A period of development may be required to gain the necessary skills for this role and training will be provided.

It is essential that you possess a Diploma/BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy and are HCPC registered.
