This EYFS Leader and Class Teacher role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver high‑quality early years provision within a supportive and forward‑thinking school environment. The position combines strategic leadership of EYFS with class teaching responsibilities and plays a key role in supporting transition for the new Reception intake. The EYFS Leader and Class Teacher will work closely with colleagues and the leadership team to ensure consistency, creativity, and high standards across early years provision.
Duties as EYFS Leader and Class Teacher:
* Lead the school’s Early Years Foundation Stage provision with support from senior leaders and early years colleagues
* Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and developmentally appropriate EYFS lessons
* Fulfil class teacher responsibilities, including assessment, planning, and reporting
* Support the transition of new Reception pupils through transition week and induction activities
* Provide effective class handover and support whole‑school transition arrangements
* Monitor and support high‑quality teaching and learning across EYFS
* Build strong relationships with children, families, and staff
* Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and early years statutory requirements are fully met
* Contribute positively to wider school life and collaborative working
Ideal EYFS Leader and Class Teacher:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status
* Proven experience as an EYFS lead and class teacher (essential)
* Strong understanding of early years pedagogy and effective classroom practice
* Demonstrates commitment to keeping children safe in education
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Resilient, organised, and confident in leading others
* Creative approach that drives teaching and learning across EYFS
* Motivated and passionate about achieving the best outcomes for young children
* Able to support and lead Reception transition for September 2026
