Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Work alongside senior members of the Department with substantial case files, providing litigation support, including contentious Deputyship work.
2. Demonstrate awareness of clients’ needs and perceptions, acting promptly, proactively, and efficiently in all client matters.
3. Manage Property and Affairs Deputyships, work with brain-injured and vulnerable clients, Trust management, assist with tax affairs and accounts, draft Personal Injury Trusts, Statutory Wills, Welfare Deputyship applications, and other related applications to the Court of Protection.
4. Maintain day-to-day contact with clients to meet their lifestyle requirements, including making payments, keeping accurate records, and attending clients’ locations as needed.
5. Delegate and supervise tasks to paralegals and trainees where appropriate.
6. Apply professional standards (SRA and OPG Deputy Standards), adhere to office procedures, and observe best practices to prevent claims against the firm for professional negligence, operating with high personal organization.
7. Achieve legitimate billing targets as agreed with the Department/Unit Head.
8. Comply with departmental procedures, including regulation and control of client indebtedness.
9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant law and meet continuing professional development requirements.
10. Seek to develop and improve the quality of your workload and level of expertise.

Davies and Partners Solicitors, Rowan House, Barnett Way, Barnwood, Gloucester, GL4 3RT; 250 Aztec West, Park Avenue, Almondsbury, Bristol, BS32; or Latham House, Birmingham, B1 2AJ.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week with flexible hours in the Bristol or Birmingham office. Hybrid working arrangements can be discussed, but flexibility to departmental needs is required.

Personal Specification
* DBS disclosure will be required prior to confirmation of appointment.
* Legal right to work in the UK (e.g., valid UK passport or appropriate visa/work permits).
* Legally qualified as a Solicitor and registered with the SRA, or FCILEx qualified Legal Executive with 3-5 years PQE in Court of Protection and Clinical Negligence (Grade B).
* Experience in Court of Protection law and practice.
* Ability to develop and maintain client relationships through positive business development.
* Self-organized and proactive.
* Problem-solving skills and responsibility-taking.
* Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Adaptability to changing operational needs.
* Proficiency with Case Management and IT systems.
* Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Relevant experience may include roles such as Court of Protection Legal Advisor, Deputyship & Trusts Solicitor, Court of Protection Case Manager, among others.
