The Astbury Biostructure Laboratory, Leeds, United Kingdom is seeking an experienced cryo‑EM scientist to lead on the provision and development of single particle analysis services and workflows. The successful candidate will grow the user base, deliver industry‑standard services, and support research leaders by contributing to high‑quality publications and securing research funding.
Responsibilities
* Lead on the provision and development of single particle analysis services and workflows.
* Grow the user base internally and externally, promoting excellence in single‑particle analysis.
* Assist users with experience‑driven methods in sample preparation, data collection, and data processing for challenging samples.
* Support research leaders at Leeds in acquisition of funding, publication, and introduction of single‑particle analysis to new research areas.
* Ensure provision of industry‑standard services for industrial clients, maintaining clear communication and punctuality.
* Represent the facility externally to promote industrial user growth and demonstrate capabilities.
Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Structural Molecular Biology or related field.
* Extensive experience preparing, imaging, and analysing challenging specimens for cryo‑electron microscopy for single‑particle analysis.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of researchers.
