Job Description
SRM Recruitment are supporting a UK transportation and travel organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant for their large London head office finance team. Having worked with this client before, we can attest to the team environment and culture. The organisation is offering a hybrid working pattern (3 days a week in the office, with some flexibility where needed).
We are seeking a qualified accountant with industry experience in some form (unfortunately our client is not considering candidates from a direct from practice background at this time) and your key experience will already include:
* proven experience in audit management
* balance sheet reconciliation
* budgeting and forecasting
* Ideally some prior / current experience in IFRS 16
The main "thrust" of the role will be:
Statutory Reporting:
* Responsible for managing the preparation of the Statutory Accounts.
* Responsible for managing the preparation of the Annual Audited Accounts Reconciliation.
* Responsible for managing the preparation of the IFRS16 reporting submissions.
* Liaising with external tax advisers on matters relating to VAT, PSA and Corp Tax.
* Responsible for ensuring that the group Statutory Accounts are prepared in accordance with relevant accounting standard
Operational Reporting:
* Responsible for quarterly forecast of balance sheet and cashflow.
* Responsible for reviewing the periodic cashflow forecast.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
* Responsible for preparation and review of the balance sheet reconciliations assigned.
* Monthly/periodic review of balance sheet control accounts, feedback to preparer of reconciliations and follow up on action points.
External Audit
* Lead as main point of contact for the External Audit
* Manage the External Audit process including preparation for and monitoring of delivery to deadlines

* Fully Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CA) with PQE in a similar role preferably from a heavier industry (asset based industry for eg) background
* Sound financial accounting experience.
* A self-starter with finance experience.
* Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
* Highly proficient in Excel and SAP/SAP BI/SAP BPC an advantage.
Budget: Our client is working to a budget of circa £60-£62,000 + benefits for the position
