The Education directorate is seeking an ambitious, experienced professional to manage the arrangements for performance, governance and transactional finance across the Directorate, whilst the current postholder is on maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop core leadership and management skills in a busy, statutory service environment, whilst actively contributing to improving educational outcomes for our children and young people.
About the job
Reporting to the Acting Head of Performance & Resources, the post holder will work closely with the Education Management Team, the Corporate Centre and the frontline teams supporting our schools and education settings.
This role presents an exciting chance to develop an understanding of the vast range of teams working to support education in our city, to build relationships, and to make connections across the Council in delivering shared Council priorities.
This is a full-time, substantive post – based in County Hall with flexibility for hybrid working.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for a knowledgeable, highly organised and resourceful manager to manage and continuously improve this pivotal service for education in Cardiff. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to drive improvement initiatives will be essential.
This post is temporary until 31/05/2026.
